This data element contains the unique ICSR identifier. Its value is a concatenation of three segments separated by dashes/hyphens: "country code-company name or name of regulatory authority-report number". The country code is the two-letter ISO 3166 Part 1 code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2) corresponding to the country of the reporter (C.2.r.3). In exceptional situations where the country of the primary source is not available, the country code where the reaction/event occurred (E.i.9) is used. The company name or name of regulatory authority is an internationally unique abbreviation or code for the sender's organisation. Use of "-" (dash/hyphen) in this segment should be avoided. The report number is the organisation's international case number. For example, if a company sends a case report to the French regulatory authority, C.1.1 would be "FR-CompanyName-12345", where 12345 is the company's unique case report number. When the same sender retransmits the same case (e.g. sending follow-up information), C.1.1 normally does not change.
