Numbers should be entered in a notation that enables international dialling (e.g. +cc) and should not include any local area code for domestic calls. For example, for countries using a leading zero for domestic numbers, the domestic number 0xx-yyy-zzzz should be entered as the international number +cc-xx-yyy-zzzz. The telephone number should not include the international dialling prefix of one's own country (e.g. 00 for Europe, 011 for the US, 010 for Japan). The International Telecommunications Union notation starts with the plus sign (+) followed by the country code of the telephone number's location. Separators are not required for readability. If used, only "-" (dash) or "." (period) should be used.
